For your first time we recommend you either fill in your profile on-line prior to coming to the studio or come to the studio 20 minutes before class starts so you can provide that information to us.
Check our schedule on-line to see class availability and when they start. We offer 60, 75 and 90 minute classes at the beginner and intermediate levels (see About Us for class descriptions). We recommend you begin with the Bikram 90 class as the instruction and pace are well suited towards first timers.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate – drink at least a litre of water before you arrive.
Come on an empty stomach of at least two hours.
Bring two towels and a large bottle of water and a yoga mat. Mats and towels can be purchased or rented at the studio. You will need one big towel to place on top of your mat and another for showering.
Dress the part. There is no need to be shy; less is more in our heated yoga room. For ladies we recommend a bra-top and shorts, and for men a pair of shorts which you can move and stretch in.
Keep an open mind. Understanding your practice will take time, you won’t get everything on the first day. Flexibility and the look of your postures is not important. It is more important you do postures the right way to the best of your ability. Trust and listen to your instructors; with time, diligence and patience it will come.
Come back! Returning for a second class the next day is that best way to get rid of stiffness and soreness, build your understanding of the yoga and gain inspiration to practice more.
